Indiana Department of Education: Time Recommendations
Indiana's Department of Education has recommended schools require a maximum student commitment of 30 minutes per class for 6th grade students (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Specials). This is approximately 12 and 1/2 hours per week. In order to show that they are meeting that commitment, students must to log into and complete activities on the iReady, Exact Path, and Google Classroom platforms at least twice per week.
6th Grade Suggested Schedule
Please see the suggested schedule to the left. This sample schedule is provided because children often respond well to structured time for learning. It should only be seen as a guide.
The schedule details what work scholars might complete each day they do distance learning. The specific times mentioned are suggested, not mandatory. You may adapt the schedule as you see fit. Your student might complete this work more quickly than has been allotted or take longer in other areas. Prioritize math and reading if your student struggles to complete tasks in a timely manner. Again, these sample schedules are offered to structure to your student's day. They should not be viewed as mandatory. |
