Indiana Department of Education: Time Recommendations
Indiana's Department of Education has recommended schools require a maximum student commitment of 30 minutes per class for 8th grade students (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Specials). This is approximately 12 and 1/2 hours per week. In order to show that they are meeting that commitment, students must to log into and complete activities on the iReady, Exact Path, and Google Classroom platforms at least twice per week.
8th Grade Schedule
Please see the schedule to the left. This details what work 8th grade scholars are expected to complete. Assignment due dates will be posted by your teacher. Work may be completed asynchronously. The specific times mentioned are "suggested," but the amount of time is mandatory (i.e. 40 minutes for ELA and 30 minutes for Exact Path ELA activities (70 minutes a day, total); 40 minutes for math and 30 minutes for iReady or IXL math activities (70 minutes a day, total); 30 minutes a day for Specials; 30 minutes a day for Science or Social Studies (alternating).
